The English Conversation Class is a meeting sponsored by the Christian Leadership Network of Virginia Tech to help international students adjust to American life as well as learn more about this country. Through a non-intense and friendly atmosphere, small group conversations include the American culture, history and way of life for the Blacksburg area, New River Valley, Appalachia, Virginia, and the United States. On occasion and at different times from the scheduled class meetings, events of outings to local areas and homes are planned. We are a Christian organization and therefore do not shy away from topics of Jesus, and the Bible, but we are aware of the fact that participants may not be Christians. Conversational topics include truths from the Bible. As Christians, the purpose is to show Jesus' love to all participants.

Some common topics include:

  • American Election System
  • Best Friends
  • Laughter
  • Love

For the Fall Semester, we meet every Monday at 12:30pm in the Cardinal Room, Squires Hall, Virginia Tech.
